Morgan + Chad | Rainy Day Wedding at Chandler Oaks Barn | St. Augustine Wedding

Fall wedding season kicked off with a great start! On 9.30.17, I had the honor of capturing Chad and Morgan's love-filled wedding day. The couple first met at church when they were 15 years old. Their parents were good friends in high school and Chad's mother is the reason that Morgan's parents even met! (How cool is that!!) Chad and Morgan started dating when they were sophomores in high school and have been together for 7 years. The groom proposed to his bride by taking her, to what she thought, a typical date to the San Marco Theater. After the credits of the movie ended, a video appeared on the screen beginning with 'Morgan'. Chad had made a film that showed pictures throughout their relationship and in the video, he talked about how much he loved Morgan. At the end, he got on one knee and asked her to be his wife. These two are a match made in heaven. I get so excited to shoot weddings that are all about the couple. It was raining on the day of the wedding but Morgan was still in such good spirit and it didn't let it bring her down. It luckily stopped raining just in time for us to take a few bride and groom portraits. (:

The two newlyweds are both musically gifted. Of course they had to incorporate that in their most memorable day by surprising their guest with them singing a duet together at their reception. They sang a cover of 'Like I'm gonna Lose You' by Meghan Trainor and John Legend. They were accompanied by their live band with the instrumentals,  Josh Wicker from 2016's American Idol and this season of The Voice, Dylan Gerard. It was such a fun night!

Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Guerra! Thank you for giving me the pleasure of documenting your beautiful day.

Florida Farmers Market Editorial + Vow Renewal

From the planner Brandi: "Brandie + Jason Chavez rewrote and renewed their wedding vows they spoke to each other 6 years ago. What was planned to be a faux wedding, turned into a beautiful, heartfelt vow exchange amongst a couple who a month prior sensed that it was time for such an event when their old framed wedding vows peculiarly fell off their wall for the first time ever. DIY projects for the day included 20 stained mini cutting boards as chargers, take-home treat station for guest's 4-legged companions, interactive herb garden for the couple that guests could help plant an herb in. All the succulent plants were potted with up-cycled thrift store containers from a vendor found at the local farmers market, macramé potted plants, handmade jewelry by a local artist found at the farmers market and a signature cocktail using the venue’s shrub mix. The shoot included mostly vendors found by the planner at her and her fiancé’s favorite farmers market in town. The shoot included a “Hangover cure magic concoction” for guests to drink while they wait for the couple to exit the venue. The “concoction” being kombucha made by no other than a local farmer’s market vendor. A local coffee shop was also included with their food truck that provided coffee and mini pop tarts in addition to the delicious lemon, lavender cake. Each vintage piece in the shoot had its own past and was shared in a new beginning for the couple.

The “help us plant our herb garden” station featured herbs directly from, you guested it, the farmers market. It served as a perfect past time activity for guests. Another interactive guest feature of the shoot was a window panel proposing the question, “If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you?” to guests so the couple could know their loved one’s wildest dreams and hold them accountable to running after them. The quote on the bride and groom’s chairs, “You and me together, we can do anything”, speaks directly to the couple and how much life they lived in their 6 years together. The venue is a farm and mills that produces rice, grits, honey, jam, eggs and alcohol shrub mix. With a venue that offers so much, it was a no brainer to do a map detailing all of the things it had to offer, including the beautiful quasi-hut built by the young owners and their dad. Not only does the venue offer a perfect isolated feel from the busy city, it also offers a taste of childhood for most with a train track running across the road with a train that sounds its soothing whistle into the night sky. On this day, the sky looked stunningly orange, mixed with beautiful hues of blue due to a wildfire that was slowly burning in a state over. Music choices for this day were 1940-1950s thrift shop mo- town tunes that sang of love and the simpler times. My favorite memory of the day was getting a big replenishing glass of Kombucha from our special friends and cheering with all the vendors after a successful day."

Briana + Lex | Old Florida Nursery | Engagement Session at The Glen Venue

Briana + Lex tie the Knot this October at Chandler Oaks Barn. We decided to have their engagement session take place at The Glen Venue. It is an old nursery that is owned by the Taber family and they often use the property as a wedding venue. The property has citrus trees, bamboo tunnels, and an old abandon green house which all made for the perfect backdrop for their session. Special thanks to Marble + Pine for making the gorgeous wine and blush bouquet.

Congratulations Lex + Briana! I can't wait for your wedding day.

Rachel + John | Historical Private Florida Estate | Navy and Gold Spring Wedding | Jacksonville, FL Wedding Photographer

Rachel and John exchanged vows and partied with their closest family, friends and the couple's sweet dog, Bella at the bride's parent's private estate home on May 6, 2017. The house was built in 1882 and It is one of the only buildings that survived the Great Fire of 1901 in Jacksonville, FL. The historic home was decorated beautifully by All About Events for their wedding day. The reception took place on the tennis courts in their backyard that was surrounded by a fence full of jasmine which made for a perfect backyard wedding backdrop . You could smell the Jasmine filling the nice spring air. This was my first wedding getting to work with a live band as the entertainment and Bay Kings Band kept the party going all night. I felt as though we were at a fun concert the entire night. It was a beautiful and intimate love-filled day.

I am honored that Rachel chose me for her special day. I LOVED having her as an #OMPbride! (:

Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Sumner!

Ashley + David | Crandon Park| Miami, Florida Summer Engagement Session | Miami Wedding Photographer

Ashley + David are Engaged!

If you love color then this blog is for you! Ashley + David's engagement session is full of colors of Miami at Crandon Park. These two will be getting married next year, so when they found me on Instagram and saw that I was going to be visiting Miami on Memorial Day weekend they contacted me for their engagement session! I am so glad they did!

Crandon Park is the perfect spot for photo sessions. On one side you have the beach filled with beautiful Florida palm trees. On the other side of the park you have the green grass with flowers, peacocks, iguanas, and other Florida wildlife.  I just loved getting to meet these two and photograph them early morning on memorial day. Even though it was hot as you would expect Miami to be, I would say it was all worth it!

Congratulations D + A!
